Hi,
Just a quick update to say that I won't be able to post pictures for a little while. We were robbed the other day and our camera and our computer were stolen. (I'm writing this quick update during my break at work). Once we are equipped again, I will post the latest.
Despite this unfortunate incident we had a very good long weekend. We spent a couple of days in Quebec to celebrate François' 50th suprise birthday. The next day, we hung out at the pool and Odette made a nice birthday supper for me...After that, we spend a day at the flea market and the beach with the kids.
More next time!
Welcome to our "memory chest" for the moments, big and small, that happen in our childrens' lives. Time passes so quickly so we hope this is one way to capture all these precious moments. Enjoy!

Father's Day

We had a wonderful father's day weekend. Once again, we were lucky enough to be able to borrow Michel's cottage for the weekend so we spent a lovely few sun-filled days in the Eastern Townships. On both Saturday and Sunday, we hit the beach again as well as some great markets. The Eastern Townships has proven to be a wonderful place to find antique furniture that has been restored. Once again, we got some wonderful deals and found some absolutely amazing pieces for our new cottage. For example, we found our new dining room table as well as an amazing wood rocking chair among other things. Right now, Michel's garage is filled with our stuff and Vincent and I will have to rent a moving van to transport all the stuff to our place. We were so happy to have found such interesting things though which such character as a fraction of what we would have paid in the city!! I can't wait to move everything into the new place.
On Sunday, we had a great father's day with the kids. The sweetest moment was when Mathieu decided to list for Vincent all the reason's he loves him. e.g. "You play ball with me, You take me to the park, You are always being funny etc.". It was quite sweet and, needless to say, Vincent had tears in his eyes. Gabriel, on his side, was a bit more oblivious to the whole thing and kept singing happy birthday to himself and saying "thank you for the presents!". I don't think he quite got that this wasn't his day.
Mathieu only has 2 days left of kindergarten before he is on vacation. We have promised him we would take him for dinner to celebrate. His choice? Boston Pizza! Well, its a step up from McDonalds. After that, he is in day camp part time for a few weeks at the community centre down our street and then we are off to Winnipeg!

Well, the big news around here lately is that we found out that our offer for the cottage was accepted. We are absolutely thrilled and feel very fortunate to be able to have this opportunity both for us and for the boys. The possession date is July 19 so we look forward to having many special times at our cottage! Vincent is there tonight with the inspector to make the final check of everything...
Another big news is that Gabriel is almost completely potty trained and we have said "Bye bye" to diapers...We are expecting some accidents in the future but we are heading in the right direction.
We had a wonderful weekend this past weekend. Michel lent us his cottage in the Eastern Townships so we had a very lovely couple of days. The water there was still a bit cold but we had fun swimming anyways. We also had a really great time at both a flea market that we found in a nearby town as well as an antique sale...They had some really interesting things and we found some great deals for our new cottage!!!!

Easing into summer...
Well, unfortunately, our camera was not working so there are no photos to document the visit but the latest news is that Vincent went to France for Hélène's wedding for a week and my mom moved in for a week to visit and help me with the kids. On the weekend, we drove to Quebec city for Michel and Yuko's Quebec wedding reception. Despite making a wrong turn due to Vincent's terrible directions and getting turned around in Quebec city it was very lovely and we had a great time. The kids also enjoyed it as it turned out the reception hall had a separate movie theatre. The kids had fun watching Cars while the adults could enjoy their dinner in peace!!! My mom and I also took the kids to a farm and the beach for the day and we all got a chance to go for a dip. Vincent got home on Wednesday night and we just had time to have supper all together before he had to drive my mom to the airport. Apparently, Vincent had a great time at the wedding and he drank, ate and danced for about 5 days straight...Needless to say he had some sleep to catch up on when he got home...
The big news here is that we have been shopping around for cottages in the Laurentians. We recently put in an offer on one that we fell in love so we are keeping our fingers crossed. We should know in the next couple of days...
