I had meant to write a lot about all the things that we did this summer. The problem lately though is that my good intentions seem to exceed my lack of free time. With two kids and a baby my free time is pretty much limited to non-existant!!
But as Alex sleeps, Gabriel sits plopped in front of the t.v. and Mathieu is at school I will take a few minutes (that I should be using to clean!!!) to write a few words about our summer before winter arrives!!
In short, we had a great summer!!! Two weeks in Winnipeg with family followed by 3 weeks of vacation at our cottage and a few days hanging out by the pool in Quebec city, plus a visit from my sister and Josh made for a great summer...Mathieu was sad to start school the other day because he did not want summer to end and I don't blame him. He said to me, "mama it's not fair, summer ends for me but it still goes on for you"...If only that were true and I could keep the weather from getting colder!
What is most special about our trips to Winnipeg is the time the kids get to spend with family there. I am always a little sad to come home as I wish the kids could have more time with their Winnipeg family...I told the boys how lucky they are to be so loved.
My Mathieu started grade 2 the other day. I know everyone says it, but time really does go by so fast and I can't believe how big he is getting. He and I had a "date" the other day. I took him to see a presentation of the Lion King. We were sitting right in the first row (we could literally see the sweat dripping from the actors forheads!!!). It was an absolutely AMAZING show and both he and I were so enthralled by everything...The costumes were absolutely incredible. It was nice to have a night out with my oldest son...It was the first time I had been out past 21:00 since Alex was born!!!! I even wore high heals and carried a non-diaper bag purse!!!
Alex is getting bigger and bigger and is determined to crawl any day now! He is the happiest baby and almost always has his mouth open in a big smile...He is also a very patient baby since he often has to wait for things as I am running around trying to take care of the other two boys. It is a lot of work having all three at once!
Well, free time is up...
